What are your art pieces made from?

All pieces are shaped out of beautiful rich toned walnut and unique grainy macrocarpa and elm timbers, and ink stained ash. They are finished with a natural blend of plant oils and wax.

They are handmade by Amelia, so there will be form and timber variation between every piece made.

Care

Due to the natural tendencies of timber, an aware level of care is required to keep your pieces looking their best for a long time.

If your pieces require a clean, use a cotton cloth to swipe off any dust or oils.

Do not thoroughly wet or submerge any of the timber pieces with water.

Please keep out of direct sunlight as this could encourage the timber to move and open up.

The larger sculptural pieces have been made using timber in it’s natural solid state. Due to the natural tendencies of timber, there is a possibility the timber will have exhibit some cracks and possibly show new ones over time. Through the use of bowtie detailing over any existing cracking, I have celebrated the tendencies of the natural material, instead of attempting to fill these imperfections with unnatural materials.

The timber is finished with a natural blend of oils and wax, which creates a beautiful smooth finish. If the surface becomes scratched or damaged over time, please get in touch and I will be more than happy to discuss how we can get it looking great again! The beauty of wood is that we can keep it looking great for generations to come with a little bit of love and care.
