Equilibrium Day Bed
The Equilibrium Day Bed was featured as part of Amelia Fagence's first solo show early 2023.
The Day bed has been finely crafted using beautiful Nelson grown Elm, paying homage to the Nelson region where Amelia spent the last year living, connecting, and creating.
In this piece spherical sculptural forms are framed by structured linear elements and punctuated with finely crafted details. They elicit a sense of playfulness and tactility.
Drawing on the concept of 'building blocks', Amelia's pieces have multiple configurations available and invite the owner to experiment with moving the sphere’s between three different positions. She imagines the possibility of the pieces evolving over time.
The natural hues of the timber are paired with luxurious quality fabric upholstery.
